Good news for Kombat fans out there. Game developer NetherRealm releases free Mortal Kombat X skin pack next month. The free medieval-themed DLC will arrive on PS4 and Xbox One platforms. Here's what is currently known about Mortal Kombat X DLC release date and characters.

NetherRealm Studios announced the upcoming skin pack on Twitter. After reading the announcement, some gamers expressed their excitement for the new DLC pack. However, desktop gamers are disappointed that the game ends its support on PC.

"Not cool! Not cool! 24 years following the MK and you betrayed us! You sold us an incomplete game. Bring the KP2 for PC!" Twitter user Khan Nunes replied to NetherRealm's post. As of now, the developer has not yet announced if the Medieval Pack will be available on PC.

As for the features of new DLC pack, it will offer new costumes for Kotal Kahn, Kung Jin, and Ferra & Torr. The three new costumes can all be seen above, with each of them looking pretty good.

Interestingly, game developer Ed Boon revealed that all four characters inside Kombat Pack 2 for Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat XL will be released on March 1 also. For European players, they will get the Kombat Pack 2 on March 4.

The Kombat Pack 2 characters are Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Xenomorph from Alien, Bo Rai Cho, a classic Mortal Kombat character, and Tri-Borg, a new "Kombatant" and the combination of Sektor, Cyrax and Robot Smoke. These new characters were unveiled in last year's Games Awards.

In a released a character preview, it shows what gamers should expect in the new expansion pack. One of the interesting things in the trailer is the appearance of Xenomorph's fatality, the chest buster.

The Kombat Pack 2 is available for $19.99 on its own, with Mortal Kombat XL priced at $59.99. A package containing Kombat Pack 1 and Kombat Pack 2 will be available for $24.99.

In a game review from IGN, it says Mortal Kombat X has wide range of fighters to play. In addition, one third of those are honest-to-goodness new characters. Combat is the king in the game that makes it more exciting for fighting-game fans.

Mortal Kombat X received 8.4 out of 10 score from the tech website.
