LG G5 was released last April 1 in the US, and it was introduced as Samsung S7's serious challenger. The new LG Android phone was unveiled a day before MWC 2016 in Barcelona. The handset sports a 5.3-inch metal body and QHD display. Now, here's the latest about LG G5 specs and features.

The G5 is the first modular phone from South Korean phone maker. According to Tech Radar, it features an all-metal design. Buyers can also upgrade it with some accessories. Additionally, the phone feels smooth on the hand.

The newest LG flagship smartphone boasts premium features. Unlike other metal-bodied smartphones, LG G5's battery is removable. According to TechAdvisor, the battery will slide out of the bottom when G5's lower panel is removed.

Also, this LG smartphone will be easier to hold because of its 5.3-inch display. LG G5 measures 149.4 x 73.9 x 7.7mm, making all corners of the screen reachable. The smartphone's screen introduces always-on display that shows dimly lit information. It also gives the date, time, and up to four notification icons. This information will always be shown even when the phone is off. Its screen uses an IPS LCD, not an AMOLED, to reduce the heating from the always-on display.

Furthermore, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor. This is a quad-core chip that also contains Adreno 530 GPU. As TechAdvisor reported, LG G5 has 32 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM. LG continues to provide an expandable storage with a Micro-SD card slot.

Regarding connectivity and battery, it has Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX HD, 11ac dual-band Wi-Fi, Cat 9 4G LTE and GPS. LG also provides an infrared port, NFC, and a newly added fingerprint scanner on the back. Its battery is not that impressive. The new smartphone contains a 2800mAh battery which is removable.

For its camera, LG G5 features a dual-camera route. The LG's flagship phone has dual rear facing cameras and optical images stabilization. Its 8Mp front camera can record 1080p videos. The front camera's lens also become wider at 135 degrees. LG G5 is said to have the widest camera yet.

For all that specifications, LG G5 costs $630. It's again cheaper than its chief challenger, the Samsung Galaxy S7.

LG G5's release date was April 1 in the US.
