After Android Marshmallow (Android M) was initially released on Nexus devices, it is now rolling out to different devices around the world. Today's reports say handsets from LG, Blackberry and Samsung are starting to get their share of Marshmallow firmware.

Several U.S mobile carriers rolled out Android M to its Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge handsets since April this year. Verizon Wireless released Android M (software version: MMB29K.G920VVRU4CPC2) with enhancements to app searches, Live Broadcast and upgrades to Notification panel. Also, Galaxy S6 devices under T-Mobile got their taste of Marshmallow software.

Samsung also confirmed to its supported page that the Galaxy S6 on AT&T is now receiving the Marshmallow OTA update with build number G920AUCU3CPC2.

For LG G3 owners under T-Mobile, expect a notification in the next couple of days as the mobile carrier already released the Android M update last week, May 2. According to its website, subscribers will get software version D85130d that introduces Wi-Fi calling improvements. On the other hand, AT&T's LG G3 devices also received the Android Marshmallow upgrade with a build number of MRA58K and software version of D859030k.

We previously reported BlackBerry Priv is now getting its Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The Priv is BlackBerry's first device that has Android software. Owners of unlocked BlackBerry Priv, those who are not tied to any mobile carrier, can now download the update.  For Priv owners under AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless, they have to wait until May 9 for the rollout of Marshmallow firmware. Tech experts advised users make sure that their devices have more than 50 percent battery life, or plug the phone into a charger for the duration.  It is also recommended to upgrade through a stable WiFi connection since the Android M update is a large one and might be around 800MB-1GB in size

CNET reported Android Marshmallow is now running on 7.5 percent of all Android devices. This figure is according to latest stats served up on Google's Android Developer Dashboard, which counted all the devices that visited the Google Play Store during the seven-day period ending May 2. This month's number is up from 4.6 percent in April and 2.3 percent in March.

Android Marshmallow is Google's software. It features innovative apps like Now on Tap and battery-saving Doze mode.
