PlayStation Plus Free Games for May, June 2016 Predictions: Possible AAA Title

May 25, 2016 12:38 PM EDT

May will be over in just a couple more days, which means members of both Xbox Live Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus are wondering what would be the free games for June 2016. The next month's lineup for Xbox Live Games with Gold looks great, but Sony might offer better titles to lure more gamers. Now, we'll you give the list of free games this May and predictions for June.

Sony offered a variety of games from different genres in the last several months. Next month, rumors indicate the gaming company could release one AAA title and a bunch of indie titles.

PlayStation Plus program received some criticisms from players because of its selection of games. However, it is rumored Sony would provide better lineup next month to match the lineup of Xbox Live Gold. Some of the free Xbox Games for June 2016 are XCOM: Enemy Unknown, The Crew and Super Meat Boy, according to GameSpot.

A possible AAA title for PlayStation Plus next month is Resident Evil: HD Remaster. If this game were included, it would be a great way to reintroduce a classic shooter game for the promotion of Resident Evil 7, which will be announced at June's E3 conference.

Furthermore, Watch Dogs is one of the games that PS Plus subscribers are talking about for the next free games list. It is reported Watch Dogs 2 is now in the development, so offering the first Watch Dogs game next month would spur interest in the sequel.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said in an interview that Watch Dogs 2 would have "innovative" gameplay and a "new tone."

In a PlayStation community thread, gamers said the lineup next month could be Soul Axiom, Axiom Verge, Lost Dimensions and Dragon Age 2. It is interesting to note that these games are already at least a year old and could hold their own on being a free title.

It is also worth mentioning that Sony has good console exclusives at their disposal, and it would be great to offer those titles as PlayStation Plus free games. Hopefully, Sony will provide better game selection next month. By doing so, they would attract more gamers to join the PlayStation Plus program, which only costs $9.99 per month.
