For those who are in the know about video games, they know that this week, from June 14-16, is E3 2016.  This is the big video game convention held every year at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and two very big companies, Electronics Arts (EA) and Bethesda, had much to announce.

EA decided not to have a booth on the showfloor, which feels like a strange move, but they have an event known as EA Live located right around the corner.  One thing that everyone knew was coming was Titanfall 2, and the release date is coming October 28, according to CNET.

Other big news was FIFA 17, which already had a trailer released, which had a brand new story mode where the player plays Alex Hunter through English Premier League.  Also in the spotlight is Mass Effect Andromeda, which promises "building on the things you love", and should have more information coming in the Fall.  Then there is an independent game and EA original called Fe from Zoint out of Gothenberg.

One of the big announcements was Star Wars, with a new Battlefront game with content from the new films for next year.  Then, in 2018, there will be a narrative action game in the Star Wars world.  Of course, there is some new Battlefront 1 footage with tanks, biplanes, along with horses, motorbikes, and Zeppelins.

As for Bethesda, they kicked off their conference on June 12 at 7 PM, and it just ended at this writing.  One of their big announcements is Quake Champions, a competitive arena-style PC shooter.

As for Elder Scrolls, there is going to be a new Elder Scrolls Legends strategy card game that will be free-to-play for the PC, Android, and iOS.  There won't be any Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2, but there will be a Skyrim Special Edition for the PS4 and Xbox one.

As expected, Fallout 4 will have some new additions, such as some sorting machines and the chance to run your own Vault.  Yes, I believe that the Fallout Shelter has that capability, and there will be some new features to the tablet version of that game.  There is going to be a DLC with a Nuka-World theme park expansion coming in August.

Oh yes, like EA, there will be an original game, and this one is known as Prey, from Arkane Studios, some space horror version of Groundhog Day.  So I guess the same day repeats over and over, like Edge of Tomorrow

Also on display were things like Doom, Dishonored 2, as well as some advancements with Virtual Reality.  In short, it looks like 2016 and 2017 will be a great year for these big video game companies.
