NBA Trade Rumors: Ricky Rubio Leaving Minnesota Timberwolves for Sacramento Kings?

It seems Ricky Rubio's time with the Minnesota Timberwolves is now about to come to an end since the team already has a new point guard. Rumors are suggesting that he could be traded to another team such as the Sacramento Kings.

Rubio has been with the Timberwolves since 2011 after playing in the Spanish ACB League. Since then, he's been the team's point guard and averages about 10 points per game.

However, before the next NBA season begins, there's a strong chance that Rubio might get traded to another team since the Minnesota franchise has acquired point guard Kris Dunn through the 2016 NBA Draft last week.

From the perspective of the Timberwolves, trading away Rubio is probably a possible option since they already have Dunn. Also, despite being a good guard, he is not an effective three-point shooter, which could seriously hinder the team's desire to head into the finals next year.

As to where he could end up, Fan Sided noted that the Kings could offer a trade involving Ben McLemore in exchange for Rubio. With Sacramento, Rubio could become a valuable asset again especially if paired up with DeMarcus Cousins.

His arrival to the team could then to the change that the Kings have been waiting for, which is stability when it comes to the relationship between the players.

As for Rubio, getting traded away will most likely be very good thing for him since he's looking for a new team that has a good chance of reaching the finals.

"When I arrived to Minnesota, my hope was to break the seven years' streak without a presence in the playoffs," he said according to ESPN. "I still have that hope, but it's very though mentally when year after year that goal is not met."

"Next season will be crucial for me," Rubio added. "I've been in the NBA for five years, and six years without playoffs would be a long time. At 26, I'd have to start thinking about teams that can get to the playoffs and win in the finals."
