As fans have become more than familiar with the couples in the Duggar family, there have been speculations that Jill Duggar-Dillard and husband Derick are planning to expand their family further. Amidst reports that Jill is pregnant with her second baby, the Duggar Family Blog has debunked such rumors.
“Jill and Derick recently shared that they are not expecting ... yet,” a blog post confirmed this Tuesday. The update showed a photo of Jill during her 13th week of pregnancy with her son, baby Israel, in 2014. The post also teased that, if the Dillards do carry on with their plan of expanding the family, they might consider adoption.
“Since moving down to Central America last year, the couple has expressed an even greater interest in adoption,” the update states. “Rest assured that when an announcement is made, we will share it with you immediately.”
On their TLC spinoff, ‘Jill & Jessa: Counting On,’ Jill and Derick were vocal about sharing their family plans. While both are currently on their extended mission trip, it was revealed in December 2015 that the couple will take adoption into consideration.
Following their volunteering stint at a children’s home in Central America, the Dillards shared with the audience their longing to adopt, similar to Jill’s sister, Jessa Duggar-Seewald, and her husband Ben’s plans.
“We’re definitely considering it,” Jill teased. “Who knows? We came down to Central America as a family of three. We could go home as a family of four!”
The 25-year-old TV star shared her last update on family planning during the season finale of ‘Jill & Jessa: Counting On’ that aired in May. When both Jill and Jessa, who gave birth to her first child in November 2015, responded to the producers after being asked about having another baby, Derick’s wife teased that it would be her.
“I think we will probably be pregnant at the same time. But to say who will be first, well, Israel is older … so we will see,” the Tontitown native said.
Despite Duggar supporters being turned down by rumors of a second Dillard pregnancy, a new courtship has led to excitement among the fans as the Arkansas family recently announced that Jinger Duggar is being courted by Jeremy Vuolo. Jim Bob and Michelle’s fourth daughter was spotted with the former professional soccer player on a double date.
After People exclusively reported the Duggar courtship news, the media outlet also dropped hints about the courtship being an important part of the second season of ‘Counting On,’ including the story of how they met each other.
"[We] had the opportunity to go on a mission trip together. It was there that I really saw his heart and really admired his character," Jinger said.
In response, Jeremy recalled and shared, "I was initially friends with Ben Seewald and Jessa [Duggar-Seewald], and it was through them that I got to meet Jinger. We are very excited to begin this journey together.”
The second season of ‘Jill & Jessa: Counting On’ makes its comeback on TLC this summer.
