After ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ made its debut in March, Gal Gadot’s portrayal of Wonder Woman was easily remarked as DC Comics fans were open in sharing their excitement to see the classic character on the big screen.

Wonder Woman’s character was last portrayed in 1941, and cinema-goers who have taken an interest in her are thrilled that Zack Snyder’s latest movie included such powerful female superhero.

Amidst male-dominated stories, the introduction of Gadot as Wonder Woman in her own film has become a highly-anticipated event in comic book adaptations, promising significant changes regarding image diversity. The 31-year-old actress herself has placed emphasis on such an “important thing” as it is expected to bring on a positive impact on younger generations.

"Being a mother with a three-and-a-half year old daughter, it's really important for me that, it's really important for me to show her..." the Israeli star told Cinema Blend. "Oh my God, it's really important for me to show her that women are great and women can follow their dreams and do what they feel like doing.

She also expressed her excitement in being able to demonstrate the relevance of strength, courage and empowerment among the female population.

"I'm very happy that I have the opportunity to show the strong, the strongest and the more empowered side of women, and I hope women are going to love it, and also men, and children, and babies, and animals,” she added.

Before her acting career, Gadot spent two years as a combat instructor in the Israeli Defense Forces; she also bagged the reputable title of Miss Israel in 2004 and went on to compete in the Miss Universe pageant. Eventually, the mother-of-one worked her way up to a blooming international modeling career.

In 2009, Gadot earned a shot at the big screen to play the role of Gisele in one of the most successful film franchises, ‘The Fast & The Furious,’ in which she played the character from the fifth to the seventh movie.

Meanwhile, fans of Gadot can also look forward to the actress starring in an action-comedy film, ‘Keeping Up with the Joneses,’ with Jon Hamm. The movie presents her as a member of the Jones clan, particularly as a spy who moves into the suburbs with her husband (Hamm) and brings on jealousy and controversy among their not-so-built-up neighbors.

The upcoming ‘Wonder Woman’ movie is set for a premiere on June 2, 2017 in the U.S. and the U.K. Aside from Gadot, the Patty Jenkins-helmed film will also have Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, David Thewlis and Robin Wright as its stars.

‘Wonder Woman’ will then be followed by the ‘Justice League’ movie in November of the same year as well as ‘The Flash’ standalone film in the following year.

Directed by James Wan, whose supernatural horror film ‘The Conjuring 2’ has recently raked in over $242 million in the worldwide box office, ‘Aquaman’ has also been scheduled to have its premiere in 2018.
