While car models are not released thick and fast in the same manner where new smartphones are introduced each quarter, this does not mean the automotive industry is a stagnant one -- far from it. Honda of Japan with their popular people mover under the Honda Civic range is pleased as punch to announce the upcoming Honda Civic 2017 that is set to deliver a sporty look to get the adrenaline pumping as you sit behind the wheel.

10th Generation Civic Hatchback To Be Made In Europe
The Honda Civic 2017 was first seen at the Geneva Motor Show in March earlier this year, and the purported release window stated back then was the beginning of 2017 in order to commensurate with the model year, although until now no official time frame or particular date has been given since the prototype's unveiling.

The Honda Civic 2017 prototype too, was deemed to be the "10th generation Civic hatchback", where it has been specially manufactured with the European market in its crosshairs. To make things more interesting, the Honda Civic 2017 will be manufactured in the continent itself, now how about that for boosting up the image of the vehicle as well as it being the first European manufactured Honda?

There is one niggling factor in all of this, though. Manufacturing of the Honda Civic 2017 will supposedly happen in Swindon, the United Kingdom, which was part of the European Union during the time of the announcement, but with the Brexit, we might see changes in the manufacturing plans. Only time will be able to tell.

Pricing & Projected Sales Figures
Honda certainly has faith in their 10th generation hatchback, with the Japanese firm looking forward to an annual sales figure of 200,000 units over in Europe. Being designed to feature a more sporty outlook as opposed to its previous generation models, this particular visual upgrade is touted to draw in more customers when it hits the market.

So far, the 4-door sedan of the Honda Civic 2017 (manual) is slated for a recommended retail pricing of $16,155, and depending on your configuration and choice, the final sticker price tag might rise to $27,155 for the 4-door touring version. The coupe version will start off at $19,555 and will max out at $27,555.

Engines, The Heart Of Every Car
As for what lies underneath the hood of the upcoming Honda Civic 2017 hatchback, drivers will be able to take their pick from 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo gasoline engines. These are not older generation engines, but rather, happen to be part of the new generation of engines that were created by the engineers over at Honda.

With low gasoline prices in the U.S. and most of the other parts of the world placing less of a burden on monthly household budgets, consumers do not mind picking up high capacity vehicles, and the Honda Civic 2017 intends to go against the grain with its small capacity engines, keeping their fingers crossed that this latest generation ride will continue to be the industry-wide retail sales leader of the compact sedan segment.

For those who do not want something that docile, there will also be a Civic Type R in the works, where you can expect at least 300 horsepower underneath hood the from a 2.0-liter turbo engine, in addition to a six-speed manual transmission, and adaptive dampers that will surely make this one hot rod.
