The recently released trailer for Narcos Season 2 reveals the search for Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar continues. Interestingly, one of the show's executives producers says major character will die next season. Now, here's what is currently known about Narcos Season 2 release date, spoilers, and trailer.

The two-minute clip shows the hunt for Escobar will be bloody and very violent. After he successfully escaped from the La Catedral prison, he's now on the run and Colombian authorities are searching for him. However, outside of La Catedral, Escobar is much more vulnerable.

The trailer begins with a voiceover that says the hunt for Escobar involves "hundreds of soldiers, tens of thousands of rounds of fire, and a bunch of helicopters." It is interesting to see how the famous Colombian drug lord would evade that massive firepower, or he would not.

In an interview with Eric Newman, one of the two show runners, he said Pablo Escobar would die next season. The first season of the show told the 15 years of history. After Escobar's escape in the summer of 1992, he has only 18 months to live.

In Narcos Season 1, viewers witnessed Escobar's political endeavors and how he was captured by the authorities. The first season was hailed as a success. Netflix's head of content acquisition Ted Sarandos claimed it might be even bigger than HBO's Game of Thrones.

The Season 2 will show the ongoing war between Escobar's infamous Medellin Cartel and Colombian authorities. The newly released photos for the next season feature the members of the ruthless cartel and DEA agents. Expect the return of Pedro Pascal as DEA agent Javier Peña and Boyd Holbrook as DEA agent Steve Murphy.

In related news, BBC reported Roberto Escobar, the older brother of real-life Pablo Escobar, has written to the show runners of Narcos to determine the show's historical accuracy. He requested to review the Season 2 before it airs later this year. The elder Escobar also seeks monetary compensation worth of $1 billion from the entertainment provider.

Netflix's Narcos series chronicles the real-life story of the infamous drug lords of the late 1980s and the joint effort of law enforcement authorities to seize their operation.

All 10 episodes of Narcos season 2 will be premiered on September on Netflix.
