‘Elder Scrolls 6’ or ‘Skyrim 2’, ‘Elder Scrolls Legends’, and ‘Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim’ Remastered Release Dates and News

It is no doubt that Elder Scrolls 5, or Skyrim, is one great hit of a fantasy game.  Considering that it has five increasingly advanced games in this series, it is only a matter of time before Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2 gets made, but it may come rather than sooner.  This is everything that is known about The Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2 release date and news, along with Elder Scrolls Legends and Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Remastered.

Bethesda usually does not have too much space in between their sequels, such as Fallout 3 and Fallout 4.  The issue is that Skyrim, released in 2011, is overdue for a sequel, and fans thought that they would at least get an announcement of one at E3 2016.  However, the big gaming convention held annually at the LA Convention Center did not have any such announcement.

In fact, according to Morning News USA, there was an announcement from Pete Hines, Bethesda Vice President, that the company isn't even working on The Elder Scrolls 6.  It looks like they just "have ideas".

Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard also said that no team has been assigned to work on Elder Scrolls 6/Skyrim 2, but the company is working on "two big projects" (which they haven't named).  A report from MNR Daily says that they have a clear image of what the next game in the series will be, but just don't have the time or technology to develop it fully.

Parent Herald states that the setting of The Elder Scrolls 6 could be in the Black Marsh, which would have an Argonia map, and there is also Valenwood, Elswyr, and even Skyrim.

While fans of the game are waiting for the sequel to Skyrim, at least they won't be bored.  They can be playing The Elder Scrolls: Legends, as card packs and arena tickets are available for purchase in the game and both can be earned through gameplay.

Those that are interested in The Elder Scrolls: Legends can sign up for the beta via the Legends website or just creating an account on Bethesda.net and opting in to the beta events.  The Elder Scrolls: Legends is a free-to-play strategy card game.

There is also a special remastered edition of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with new features to be released on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 28.

So, there are a lot of things that The Elder Scrolls fans can do in the meantime.  It could take quite a while before Elder Scrolls 6/Skyrim 2 gets released, and it could be out as late as 2018.
