HP's first smartphone in over two years will be released this month. HP Elite X3 is a productivity-focused device that can be connected to laptop and desk computers. Now, here's what it is currently known about HP Elite X3 release date, specs review and price.

The HP Elite X3 smartphone will be available with a charging dock that allows it connect to a laptop or desktop computers. HP also says it plans to release a laptop that can be controlled wirelessly by the Elite x3, as per the report from The Verge. The pricing and availability of the said laptop are still unknown.

As the name suggest, HP markets the Elite x3 as three different devices: desktop, laptop and smartphone.

Furthermore, the Elite x3 is designed to increase its user's productivity, something that very few consumer smartphones can offer. According to HP, it is important for enterprise users to have a continuous computing experience wherever they are, with files that can be opened on their desktop, laptop and smartphone. With the Elite x3, users can work seamlessly on different devices.

The three-way smartphone also leans heavily on Windows 10's Continuum feature, which allows devices to be plugged into a keyboard, mouse and monitor and run almost like a desktop computer.

Although the Windows 10 app selection is not that great, HP assures buyers the Elite x3 has software that will greatly help its users.

As for the specs of the smartphone, it has a huge 5.96-inch screen with a QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels). Inside, it is powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4GB of RAM. These internal parts are expected to boost the phone's performance. Plus, they will prevent lags and screen delays.

Additionally, the Elite x3 has 64GB of internal storage. If that is not enough, there's a Micro SD slot that can accommodate 2TB storage card.

The device also supports wireless charging technology, which will give more convenience to users. Moreover, it contains a massive 4,150mAh battery, perfect for users who want to maximize the phone's capabilities.

On its own, Elite x3 costs $699. With HP's charging dock bundle, the phone costs $799. HP says shipping starts on August 29. For those who want to pre-order the phone now, visit this link.
