Less than two weeks after the release of No Man's Sky on PC and PlayStation 4, mods for the game are now coming in. There are mods that help players to have infinite health, instant cooldown on weapons, infinite ship health and many more. Now, here's how you can install and download the mods for No Man's Sky on PC and PlayStation 4.

No Man's Sky players can download the mods at this website, which was set up by a group of developers from VGMods. The website is open for anyone who can make mods for the game. To install a game modification, users just have to copy one of the mod .pak files in their No Man's Sky folder, which is usually located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\GAMEDATA\PCBANKS"

Many of the earliest mods only offer cosmetic changes. One of the mods can add "Instagram filter" to the game. Other mods allow players to alter the HUD interface, speed up the hold timer in every click and even disable the annoying audio warnings.

Interestingly, there's a Trainer mod that allows players to go nuts and mess with in-game planets without worrying about health, cash or materials. This mod is helpful for players who just want to have "chill mode" in No Man's Sky.

For gamers who want to create their own No Man's Sky mod, there is a video posted on YouTube that outlines the basic process of creating the game's unofficial modifications. According to Ars Technica, modders edit the game's host files by uncompressing them using a PSARC decompiler tool. After that, modders alter the files and recompile them to get a modified version of the game.

On the other hand, all of the mods only offer minimal changes in the game and don't seem able to make significant modifications to the constant parts of the galaxy managed by the game's central servers. In addition, there is no mod that can edit the online Atlas which determines the names of in-game creatures or a mod that can change the topography of a certain planet.

Currently, No Man's Sky mods are only available to PC. There's no news about the mod's release date on the game's PS4 version. Nevertheless, it is still good news to have some cheats to help players explore the massive universe of No Man's Sky.
