NEEDTOBREATHE's latest album was released in July, and it immediately topped albums charts. In an interview with keyboardist Josh Lovelace, he says the new album is a fresh chance for them to explore their musicality and try new instruments.

The band's latest album is titled "Hard Love." In it, there's a song that talks about the dangers of indulging in a rock 'n' roll lifestyle. The song, "Money & FAME," was a kind of metaphor, according to lead singer Bear Rinehart.

In a report from Seattle Times, he said the band asked the producers as they are writing the song. "Does this sound too arrogant? Because we're not rich and we're not famous," Rinehart said in an interview with the publication while in Nashville, Tennessee, rehearsing for their new tour.

He added that the band had more fun while making the new album than any other record. In fact, Bo Rinehart, Bear's brother and guitarist, took dance lesson to learn the rhythms and the grooves.

Keyboardist Lovelace told in Daily Tribune that the band wanted to get far away as possible in the Hard Love. He described that the album is more groovy and upbeat than 2014's "Rivers in the Wasteland".

Lovelace went on to say that faith helped them to get to the other side and finish the album.

"Our faith has definitely been the thing that we can call on, that we can rely on...I don't think on our own power we could've done anything. Our faith is extremely important to us, and that will always echo in the songs that we create, I'm sure," the band's keyboardist said.

Hard Love is NEEDTOBREATHE's sixth studio album. It debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart a month ago and topped the alternative, rock and Christian charts. While their last album sounds like Americana and acoustic guitar rock, the new album makes use of beats, synthesizers, and electronic pop grooves.

For those who want to watch the band live, they will perform on Sunday, Aug. 28 at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre on the campus of Oakland University, Rochester Hills. The show is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Tickets are priced at $36 for the pavilion and $27 for the lawn. $1 of each ticket goes to One World Health.
