Colin Kaepernick seems to have reached the end of the road with the San Francisco 49ers after failing to keep up with the Chip Kelly system in the preseason games. However, it looks like the Green Bay Packers are offering a fresh start to the quarterback. Will Kap be a good backup for Aaron Rodgers? Or will this be a waste of time and money for the Jordy Nelson team?

Colin Kaepernick seems to have reached the end of the road with the San Francisco 49ers after failing to keep up with the Chip Kelly system in the preseason games. However, it looks like the Green Bay Packers are offering a fresh start to the quarterback. Will Kap be a good backup for Aaron Rodgers? Or will this be a waste of time and money for the Jordy Nelson team?

The Colin Kaepernick trade talks have started way before the offseason begun. With his lackluster performance in the gridiron and eventual injury, the once starting quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers had been relegated to second in command behind Blaine Gabbert last season. To make matters worse, Kap even engaged in a contract standoff against the Chip Kelly squad.

His face-off against the team eventually ended, but his fight for the starting role was far from over. Throughout the offseason and into the preseason, Colin Kaepernick has been tagged as a second stringer to Blaine Gabbert's lead role. However, it seems that even this role may no longer be available for his as Colin Kaepernick trade talks are once again plaguing the league.

One of the rumored NFL teams interested in signing a Colin Kaepernick trade deal is the Green Bay Packers. With Jordy Nelson still recovering from his injury last preseason, the Eddie Lacy team seems to be looking for ways to ensure that all their players are accounted for. That is, reliable backups for every key star should be readily available in the Green Bay Packers lineup. Does this mean that a Colin Kaepernick trade will be pushed soon?

At this point, the answer remains uncertain. For the San Francisco 49ers, Colin Kaepernick is still very much in the running for the starter role. Despite his lackluster performance in the past, it appears that Chip Kelly is not yet fully convinced that Blaine Gabbert is the best option for the team.

Meanwhile, Colin Kaepernick is also involved in yet another drama. This time, though, the issue is not related to the NFL but has a political nature. In the recent game of the San Francisco 49ers, Kap refused to stand when the national anthem played. The quarterback explained that his refusal signified his protest against the struggles colored people in the country.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," he explained. He further noted, "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."
