Latest reports say developer Supercell will give a massive September update for "Clash of Clans" to lure gamers back after Niantic's Pokémon Go gained popularity in the past few months. The upcoming update will reportedly bring new modes, free gem reward system and more.

Here's what is currently known about Clash of Clans September Update release date, rumors and news.

Free gem mining is one of the most requested feature that players have been asking for. Since Supercell did not release this feature in the previous update, many believe it will come in the forthcoming one.

It is reported that the game developer would follow the reward system in Pokémon Go, where players can get certain valuables like Pokeballs, potions, and eggs under specific circumstances. In the same manner, developers of Clash of Clans might introduce a new system that will allow players to get free gems.

This means players will be able to mine Gems without paying for anything. In addition, the feature will  be a welcome addition for casual players who don't want to shell out a single penny for a mobile game. However, Supercell makes money by selling Gems to players, so don't expect them to give many free Gems. Estimates show the developer makes over 5 million dollars in gems a day.

Aside from free items, the upcoming update is rumored come with new mode. Currently, Clash of Clans has three modes: Friendly Challenge, Single Player, and Money Player. The mechanics of the new mode is not yet known, but it will definitely add new dimension to the game.

The last major update in the Clash of Clans introduced many new levels of structures and troops, but most of them were only available to players that have level 11 Town Hall. It is said the new update will bring new buildings and troops that are accessible to many players.

For now, everything is still up in the air. Supercell has not yet confirmed or denied rumors about Clash of Clans September update, so readers are advised to take the details mentioned above with a proverbial pinch of salt.

The general assumption is that the new update will become available next week, as per report from Christian Times.

According to GameSpot, Clash of Clash has more than 29 million active users. Interestingly, the game's September update might increase that figure significantly.
