A&E's "Duck Dynasty" reality actor "Uncle Si" Robertson released a new eBook entitled "Si-Renity," in which he explains how he stays calm and keeps his faith. He echoes that faith is the most important element in his life.
"Since the show [Duck Dynasty] has become a hit, some of the things that have happened when we're out at events [have] actually strengthened my faith in Him," said Robertson.
In an interview with Fox, Robertson pointed to Make-A-Wish Foundation as an example. "These kids are dying of cancer, and the last thing they want do is see me or my brother or Willie or Sadie. They're dying and their last wish is to see the Robertsons, and that's amazing to us," he said.
"We've said a prayer for them, and then the Almighty healed 'em. It's a pretty neat thing to watch God's work."
Robertson also revealed in the interview he plans to vote for God as U.S. president this November. "First, He cannot lie, second, He's going to do what's right because he loves the United States of America because He's been with us since the founding of it and then plus, that's the truth of the matter. That's the standard you should use," he said.
This new book follows "Si-cology 1," beginning where it ended. Robertson gets more personal as he shares details about his life on the road, and how he feels about life after the show. The new book shines a light on the kindness and compassion he has for children, the military and less fortunate people. Full of zany, yet honest stories about his day-to-day life on the road, he narrates the lessons he's learned about living life courageously and joyfully, and shares his personal source of peace and love for others - both originating directly from his faith in God.
Regarding another important matter, Robertson said America doesn't do enough for returning military veterans. "My son had that post-traumatic stress from what he saw over there. He did eight tours of Iraq. I hadn't thought about it 'till he had one of those episodes one day. His wife called me, and I went over to help her because he was out of it. And afterward we got to talking and he said, "Dad you've got to understand. I've got three years of that in my mind."
He said he hadn't even thought of it in that way.
After Duck Dynasty is done, Robertson said he's ready for a new phase of his life. "I just did 10 episodes of a new show. One of the episodes is me going to Nashville to get into the music business. I'm really going to do that. I have a musical career that I'm trying to start right now.
"I sing country music. George Jones, Merle Haggard, the old guys. Trying to bring real country music back."
