While former reality TV star Josh Duggar and his wife Anna have not made a public appearance since their marriage was surrounded with controversy in 2015, the couple still celebrated their wedding anniversary with which the Duggar family posted an image of the couple on their Facebook page.

"Happy Anniversary, Josh and Anna," the post stated in celebration of their eighth wedding anniversary. "We are so thankful for God's redemptive love in your lives."

Josh is the eldest of the kids who appeared on the TLC’s hit reality series ’19 Kids and Counting,’ which centered on their large family. Jim Bob Duggar’s clan is famous for following devout Christian beliefs, such as disapproval of birth control and adherence to strict courtship rules.

However, following the revelation about Josh and his molestations, the network canceled the once-beloved reality show. After several months, Jim Bob’s eldest son was taken in to a faith-based rehabilitation facility. He was revealed to have had a subscription to the adultery website Ashley Madison.

"While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the Internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife," Josh said in a statement. "I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust."

After finishing treatment at the rehab center, the Duggar family revealed that Josh has come home and has planned to carry on with an outpatient program to “focus on rebuilding with his family,” as stated in the Duggars’ blog.

“Throughout this ordeal, Anna remained faithful to her husband,” the family added. “She continued to trust in God and be strong for her children.”

After Josh's homecoming, he and his wife issued a statement on the Duggar family website sharing that they have been "working with a professional marriage and family counselor to take important steps toward healing."

"It isn't easy and some days are very difficult. It is a long road to rebuild trust and a truly healthy relationship," the couple further wrote. "As the future unfolds, we are taking one day at a time and we are grateful for your continued prayers for both of us and our sweet children."

Josh and Anna are parents to four children: 6-year-old Mackynzie, 4-year-old Michael, 2-year-old Marcus, and 14-month-old Meredith.

Anna has already made an appearance on the Duggar’s new family series ‘Counting On,’ but husband Josh is yet to film for the spinoff since TLC said goodbye to ’19 Kids and Counting.’

‘Counting On’ season 2 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. E.T. on TLC.
