Netflix's Marvel Series Release Dates Update: The Punisher, Iron First, Daredevil Season 3, Jessica Jones Season 2

Marvel and Netflix’s partnership has certainly yielded the right dividend, as you can tell by the response since the release of Daredevil and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., among others. Well, we have since seen the likes of Luke Cage making a strong debut, so what else does Netflix have in store for us? How about The Punisher, Iron Fist, Daredevil Season 3 and Jessica Jones Season 2?

The Punisher
The Punisher Netflix series has now entered production officially, with Daredevil playing a bit-part role under the purview of supporting cast. Jon Bernthal has the privilege of playing the butthurt war veteran Frank Castle who lost everyone he loved in one fell swoop, turning him into a vigilante of justice whose ends justify the means. It would be interesting to have Castle sit in with Captain America and hold a discussion on the virtues of truth, justice and integrity.

It is nice to see Jon Bernthal’s appearance in Netflix’s Daredevil Season 2 finally receive his very own series, with Daredevil being part of the supporting cast this time around. Fret not, Daredevil Season 3 has more surprises in store for us viewers, but we will look at that later on. Basically, The Punisher will see how Frank evolves down the dark path into the character that we have all come to know and love in the comics, so seeing it unfold on Netflix is going to be a treat.

There has been no premiere date set for The Punisher Netflix series yet, but it does seem that Iron Fist and The Defenders set to arrive in 2017, The Punisher, Daredevil Season 3, and Jessica Jones Season 2 will most probably make a debut only in 2018. Of course, since Netflix has already begun casting, we would not rule out a late 2017 debut for The Punisher either.

Daredevil Season 3: Bullseye to return?
You can’t keep a good man down, but neither do great villains end up permanently dead, too. In the third season of Daredevil on Netflix, we learned that that Kingpin is all set to make a return, and there should also be appearances of Jessica Jones as played by Krysten Ritter, in addition to Mike Colter's Luke Cage. As mentioned earlier, Daredevil Season 3 ought to roll out after the Defenders, which makes a 2018 release date very possible. Not only that, Bullseye, Daredevil’s eternal nemesis, is also rumored to make a return in Season 3. It would make for very interesting viewing as we see how Daredevil might want to avenge the death of his beau, Karen Page, at the hands of Bullseye.

Iron Fist
Iron Fist is also set to make his Netflix debut, where the story of a Danny Rand, a young boy left to die in the cold was picked up by kind hearted monks who presumably taught him the mystical arts that would eventually turn him into Iron Fist. As he makes his way back into New York City as a billionaire, the bad guys are certainly in for a rude awakening. The trailer is already up, and this particular trailer is a classic textbook case of a picture speaking a thousand words. You can watch the Iron Fist trailer below.

Jessica Jones Season 2
The Hollywood Reporter reported that Melissa Rosenberg, the series showrunner, has not had any discussion with Cheo Hodari, who is the showrunner of Luke Cage, on how the series is going to develop further. Luke Cage and Jessica Jones will eventually team up with Daredevil and Iron Fist on Netflix's upcoming series known as The Defenders. Hopefully Jessica Jones Season 2 will not disappoint.
