'Transformers 5: The Last Knight' Release Date, Trailer To Arrive Late 2016

The Transformers movie franchise has certainly raked in the dough for Michael Bay over the years, and it does not look as though this golden goose is about to be put to bed anytime soon. In fact, we have just received word from director Michael Bay himself that the fifth instalment of the movie franchise, Transformers: The Last Knight, will have its trailer released some time later this year. Of course, we would think that it should happen before Christmas Day, as it would certainly be worth talking about over the course of the holiday season. As for the movie itself, it is set to be released next summer on June 23rd.

Through a Facebook Live post (there is some NSFW language in there, so do take note), Michael Bay let it rip to the masses that the first teaser trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight should make its debut some time in either November or December. We would say that YouTube watchers would be among the first to be able to to pick up any whiff of the trailer, which is sure to rack up the views in double quick time. Expect to see the American flag flying proudly in the trailer somewhere, not to mention some hot looking females with well sculpted bodies making an appearance as well. Oh yeah, transforming robots would also be part of the deal.

Who else will be appearing in Transformers: The Last Knight? So far, Bay himself has confirmed that the movie series’ veterans, John Turturro and John Goodman will be reprising their respective roles in the fifth movie. The former who played the role of Agent Seymour Simmons in the first three films, while the latter voiced Hound in Transformers: Age of Extinction.

The Facebook Live post that we talked about was recorded on the last day of the production's stint in England, where we do know that there will also be a bunch of extras who were involved in the filming of a medieval battle scene -- which was full of mud, too. The next stop that the crew will be headed off to when it comes to production? Michael Bay points to Africa -- a magical continent that is chock full of scenic sights and colorful people.

Other actors who will star in Transformers: The Last Knight will include Mark Wahlberg, Anthony Hopkins, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Stanley Tucci, Jerrod Carmichael, Laura Haddock, and Isabela Moner.

It remains to be seen what will be part of Transformers: The Last Knight, but it looks like there will be Dinobots in the upcoming movie, not to mention a crossover of sorts that will involve King Arthur. Could Excalibur be some sort of Transformer artifact, and only an Autobot is worthy enough to pull it out from the stone? So many questions, and we certainly hope the upcoming trailer will reveal more answers than leave us with additional questions. How about the number of Autobots or Decepticons that will debut? Only time will be able to tell.

Fan favorite Bumblebee is also said to be getting his very own spin-off on June 8, 2018, while Transformers 6 is slated for a June 28, 2019 rollout. Now the latter is very far away, and we do wonder whether the financial success of The Last Knight will influence the decision for Transformers 6.
