Samsung is now preparing to release the Gear S3 next month. For interested buyers, selected retail websites are now taking pre-order for the smartwatch. Now, here's the latest round-up of update about Samsung Gear S3 pricing, availability and release date.

Samsung Gear S3 comes in two versions: the Classic and the Frontier model. The former is designed for a formal look, while the latter is for active users who have sports-oriented lifestyle. Samsung has not yet announced the official release date of the smartwatch, leaving some to speculate that the launching would be delayed. However, BestBuy and MobileFun are now taking pre-orders.

In BestBuy's store page, it says the release date of Gear S3 is on Nov. 18 and shipping starts on Nov. 19.

The Frontier and Classic variants of Gears S3 have different features that are aimed for a specific user.

As we mentioned earlier, the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier is designed for users who have active lifestyle because of its rugged design. Its built-in LTE mobile network connectivity gives it more functionality even though it is not tethered to a smartphone. In addition, it has GPS sensor to track users' distance while they are running.

The Gear S3 Classic, on the other hand, has more iconic appearance of a premium watch. Because it is designed for business people, it is lighter than the Gear S3 Frontier and replicates the look of hand-crafted luxury watches.

For specs, both models of the Gear S3 are powered by dual core processor clocked at 1.0GHz. They also have 4GB internal memory and 768MG RAM. With the latest Tizen operating system, the Gear S3 is compatible on all Android devices running on Android 4.4 or higher.

Interestingly, the smartwatch's 1.3-inch circular Super AMOLED display has always-on feature. With always-on display, wearers can see immediately the current time and date without waiting for the screen to turn on.

The screen of the Gear S3 has 360 x 360 resolution and pixel density of 278ppi.

Samsung claims the 380 mAh battery of the smartwatch can last for up to 4 days with non-stop use.

According to Tech Radar, the Gear S3 also has SOS mode that can help wearers during emergency situations. With just a press of a button, the smartwatch will alert the user's families, friends and emergency services even if it is not connected to a smartphone.
