NFL Rumors: Denver Broncos Mull Over Huge Jimmy Garoppolo Contract; Patriots QB to Land Starting Role Over Trevor Siemian

The Denver Broncos went from having two great quarterbacks in Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler to fielding a third stringer and a rookie as their starters. With their disappointing 2016-17 NFL season, the former Super Bowl champs are undoubtedly raring to fix the mess they've made of their winning team. With this in mind, many point to a future Jimmy Garoppolo contract coming in the Von Miller squad soon.

The 25-year-old New England Patriots has an expiring contract by 2018 when he would be an unrestricted free agent. Given the decision of starter Tom Brady to stay a while longer in the game, it looks like the younger quarterback will once again take the backseat in the gridiron. Possibly sensing his restlessness and desire to prove himself as a stellar leader, a number of NFL teams are said to be calling to check if a Jimmy Garoppolo contract is available.

The previous season saw several football squads in dire need of a promising quarterback including the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns and Washington Redskins. Part of the list is the Denver Broncos - the same team that previously had to juggle the overwhelming talents in their roster. Given the potential of the Von Miller squad to possibly challenge the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl next season, rumors are rife that a Jimmy Garoppolo contract could be found there.

If the Denver Broncos actually sign a Jimmy Garoppolo contract, then fans believe that the quarterback post will see a new leader. Although Trevor Siemian did a decent job in handling the leadership role, fans feel that he has yet to reach the caliber of Peyton Manning or even Brock Osweiler. At this point though, this remains as an NFL rumor - one that has yet to be commented on by the parties involved. For his part, it looks like Trevor Siemian knows his role as the lead quarterback is not permanent.

"It doesn't [bother me]. That's the deal I'm in," shared Trevor Siemian of the talks to possibly find a different quarterback. "I was a seventh-round pick. I'm not as dumb as I look, I'm going to have to fight and scratch and claw my way my whole career. I'm fine with that. Truthfully, I wouldn't have it any other way."
