The Green Bay Packers had a very strong NFL season with the Atlanta Falcons blocking their way to a Super Bowl run against the New England Patriots. While the Aaron Rodgers team had been disappointed when they failed to face off against the Tom Brady squad, they remain one of the most serious contenders every season. What will happen if the Jordy Nelson team manages to actually sign one of the most talented football stars in the league? Will this finally bring the Super Bowl trophy to their locker room?

The Marshawn Lynch retirement announcement came as a shock not only for the Seattle Seahawks but for the rest of the NFL. The 30-year-old running back had been one of the greatest weapons of the Russell Wilson team. However, rumors of disagreements over coaching and leadership decisions reportedly led to his exit.

At this point though, rumors are rife that a Marshawn Lynch comeback is in the horizon. Although the Seattle Seahawks still own his rights in the NFL, the running back is anticipated to don a different uniform if he does come out of retirement. Among the football teams reportedly interested in his return are the Dallas Cowboys, Oakland Raiders and Atlanta Falcons. However, it appears that the Green Bay Packers are the strongest contenders. Not only that, but the Aaron Rodgers team is said to have been highly interested with Marshawn Lynch way back in 2007.

"Having sat for years between John Schneider and Reggie McKenzie, now the general managers for the Seahawks and Raiders, I feel like I should broker a Marshawn Lynch trade between the two. They were former colleagues of mine in Green Bay, and I remember how frustrated both were when the Bills drafted Lynch ahead of us in the first round of the 2007 draft," revealed Andrew Brandt.

In 2007, the Green Bay Packers had the 16th overall pick which they reportedly intended to use for Marshawn Lynch. However, the Buffalo Bills at 12th place drafted the running back instead - a fact that greatly frustrated the Aaron Rodgers squad. With a potential Marshawn Lynch comeback this season, will the Jordy Nelson make a bid for his contract?

At this point, no official comment has been given by Marshawn Lynch or any of the NFL teams tagged in the rumor. However, fans of the Green Bay Packers are excited over the possibility of signing the Seattle Seahawks star to play alongside Aaron Rodgers next season.
