Google’s range of mobile devices are always at the forefront of the Android mobile operating system updates. This is to be expected, as Google is the patron saint of Android after all. If you are rocking to the Pixel C tablet, then you might be pretty happy working with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, but why stop there when the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update is already available for download? This update will be available Over The Air (OTA), but if you are feeling impatient, you can always perform a manual update in order to enjoy the very latest version of Android.

As long as your Pixel C has been enrolled in the Android Beta Program, you will be able to pick up all of the regular OTA updates for the different milestone builds in the Android 7.1.2 Nougat Public Beta. With the next version of Android rolling out as and when, then the enrolled Pixel C, too, will receive an automatic update. This is the recommended approach by Google, since it would allow the user to enjoy a seamless transition from the existing environment, to a new one, walking through the different releases of the Android 7.1.2 Developer Public Beta all the way to the final release version.

It is important to remember that prior to installing a system image on a particular device, it is highly recommended that important data such as irreplaceable photos and user information, contacts, messages, videos, etc, will be appropriately backed up. The update size does seem to weigh in at 350MB thereabouts, so it is not too much of a large file to download. Still, it is highly advisable that you perform it via a Wi-Fi connection, so that you can save up your precious monthly data quota for other more important stuff. Oh yes, do ensure that your Pixel C has at least 50% of battery life remaining before you continue, otherwise keep it plugged in throughout the entire download and installation process.

With Android 7.1.2 Nougat, the Pixel C will finally be able to take advantage of the long awaited Pixel Launcher which has appeared earlier on other Pixel products. Not only that, you will also be able to select where you can set live wallpapers for a greater degree of customization, in addition to a whole new battery usage list. The Pixel Launcher on the Pixel C will definitely come with its own looks since the Pixel C is Google's flagship tablet, but it is not too difficult to recognize in the first place. There will be the app drawer which can be accessed with a simple swipe up from the bottom, with the folders carrying on the legacy of a porthole format. Ah yes, not forgetting the presence of the Google pill search widget.

Well, if you own a Pixel C from Google, why not keep a keen eye out on the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update for your flagship tablet? It might be more than a year old now, but this does not mean that it has been relegated to the scrap heap!
