E3 2017 is just around the corner. Next month, from June 10 to 15, we might hear an update from Sony Computer Entertainment about the latest developments in God of War 4. However, don't expect a launching at E3 2017 as the game is scheduled to release on PlayStation 4 on 2018.

Even though Sony has been tight-lipped about God of War since it was announced at last year's E3, some gaming analysts believe we will hear more about the game in the gamer's convention next month. The jaw-dropping God of War E3 2016 announcement surprised many gamers around the world. In fact, the God of War 10-minute gameplay trailer has amassed more than 17 million views on YouTube.

PlayStation Universe reports Sony Santa Monica is now working on a God of War PSVR title. There are strong rumors that the VR version of God of War 2018 will be showcased at E3 2017. Furthermore, PlayStation Magic Lab head, Richard Marks, reportedly have a God of War VR demo in his studio. Sony has not yet confirmed the God of War PSVR, so let's take it with a grain of salt.

Details about God of War 2018 are still scarce. But we already know Kratos has a son now named Atreus. It is rumored that Atreus will play a huge role in God of War. There could be a button that is dedicated to him in combat to help his father kill monsters and gods. Atreus has an ability to cast lightning arrows.

Interestingly, there's a king in Greek mythology named Atreus, whose line was cursed by gods. Does that mean Krato's action in Greece will affect the fate of his son? We still don't know, but it's interesting to see if game developers used that narrative.

In terms of gameplay, Kratos will use a War Axe in the sequel. During combat, the axe can be used to freeze enemies. It can also be thrown to enemies for long range combat. Kratos will also have an access to Spartan Rage to increase his strength and speed.

In addition, Kratos will be facing the gods in Norse mythology. Just like previous titles, expect there will be engaging fights against supernatural monsters that exist in the Viking legends. We'll also see boss fights against Norse gods like Odin, Sif, Loki and Thor. Of course, Kratos will also clash against Norse god's vicious servants like Midgard Serpent and Fenrir the Wolf.
