Longmire Season 6 Update: Production Team Halfway Done

Longmire is coming to Netflix this year, and it would be the show's final season. The news is bittersweet for fans, but producers assure that it would be a satisfying ending.  The production team already finished half of the 10-episode season, so we should expect a trailer soon.  The Season 6 will premiere in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and U.S in the latter part of 2017, probably in September.

The crime drama series was originally released on A&E Network, but after three seasons, the show was unexpectedly canceled. Many viewers were disappointed by the abrupt ending that they decided to launch a campaign to save the show.

Netflix came to rescue and has been the home for Longmire for the past two seasons.  Analysts said Netflix's move is proof that the series has a strong appeal to the audience. Statistics show Longmire is one of the most watch series in A&E history, getting more than 4 million viewers each episode.

Katee Sackhoff, who plays Vic Moretti, said the filming for Season 6 started on March 22.  If all goes well, they will able to finish the 10-episode sixth season before July ends.  In fact, Louanne Stephens (who plays Ruby) tweeted last month that they already finished shooting the 4th episode. Therefore, it means the production team is already halfway done.

The ten episodes of Longmire Season 6 are expected to release in the latter part of 2017.  The last two seasons of the series were premiered in September. Various reports suggested Netflix will stick to that schedule for the last season. So, we might be able to see Sheriff Walt again in September 2017.

Compare to other Netflix shows, Longmire is unique in its own kind. It follows the story of Walt Longmire, a Wyoming sheriff who has to face the painful death of his wife while trying to keep his town in order.

Over the years, Longmire proved that it has a fanbase that strongly supports the show. However, despite its successful run, the sixth season will serve as the final chapter of the series. Nonetheless, viewers are excited to know how Walt's story will end.

"We have every confidence that they will have a satisfying conclusion to this revered series," Netflix's Vice President Cindy Holland said in an interview with Hollywood Reporter.

There are rumors that Season 6 will delve on Vic and Sheriff Walt's affair, a storyline that fans really want to see. Many are wondering if Vic will end up with Sheriff Walt in Season 6. There are also rumors that they will have a wedding before the last season ends. However, these are just speculations, and nothing is confirmed yet.
