Sharknado 5 Release Date and Spoilers: Tara Reid and Ian Ziering Returns to Rescue Their Son

The fifth installment in the sci-fi movie series releases this summer.  Syfy Network has announced that Sharknado 5 premiere date is on August 6, 2017. Titled Global Swarming, the new entry in the movie series takes Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) and April Wexler(Tara Reid) in different locations around the world to find their son who is trapped in a shark-filled tornado.

Sharknado 5: Global Swarming has a "Make America Bait Again" tagline, which is obviously taken from President Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan.  The title of the movie came from a social initiative that was launched earlier this year. The campaign asked fans to come up with "most creative and outrageous" title for the movie. With a very political tagline, some say there's a big chance that a Trump impersonator will show in the film only to end up being eaten by sharks.

As for celebrity cameos, there's a bunch of popular names that will be featured in the film, so prepare to get excited because the new movie will gonna be wild. Fabio Lanzoni will play as the Pope, and pro skater Tony Hawk will be a "weapons strategist".  Also, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams will play as Andromeda, an archaeologist, and a member of "Sharknado Sisters".

Furthermore, we'll see Gilbert Gottfried as storm chaser Ron, Charo as the queen of England, Saturday Night Live's Chris Kattan as England Prime Minister, and Bret Michaels as a visiting artist who will be sucked in the storm. Cassie Scerbo, Masiela Lusha, and Cody Linley will also return to reprise their roles from previous Sharknado movies.

The fifth entry in the Syfy's outrageous movie series picks up the events in the Sharknado 4. As we mentioned earlier, Fin and April tries to rescue their son from the shark-infested tornado.  From Tokyo to Rome, the duo will travel the world with the help of different celebrities to save their son.

As of now, there's still no trailer for Sharknado 5: Global Swarming. The movie is directed by Anthony C. Ferrante.

The series of disaster horror comedy sci-fi films from Syfy started in 2013. Since then, it has been adapted to video games and comics. Last year, a spin-off film titled  Sharknado: Heart of Sharkness was released.
