Episode 1: Ark Angel directed by Jodie Foster

Jodie Foster will direct the pilot episode of season 4.  The Oscar-winning director already confirmed her involvement in the series. In an interview with the Telegraph, she said the first episode of Black Season 4 has the tone of "an indie movie, and an indie drama." Foster also added the story would revolve around mother and daughter in an artificial intelligence-filled world.

Rosemarie DeWitt and Daniel Westwood are cast in the Ark Angel episode.

Episode 2: USS Callister directed by Toby Haynes

By the sounds of it, USS Callister seems to be about the future of space travel. According to a post from Production Beast, the second episode of season 4 is about "deep space travel and deep trouble." Given that NASA is planning to make a human habitat on Mars in the next 30 years, it is interesting to see how show writers will present the pros and cons of space travel.

Toby Haynes is the director of episode 2. He is also the man behind big-budget series Sherlock and Doctor Who.

Episode 3: Crocodile directed b: John Hillcoat

Director of The Road and Lawless supervises the third episode of season 4. Director John Hillcoat is reportedly filming the third episode titled the "Crocodile" in Australia.  Details are still unknown, but the story apparently revolves around two women, one of whom will be played by Andrea Riseborough.

Episode 4: Hang the DJ directed by Tim Van Patten

"Hang the DJ" is one of the most exciting titles of Black Mirror Season 4 episodes. As the name suggests, the fourth episode might dwell on the influence of DJs, newscasters and other media personalities to the public. Aside from the limits of technology, Black Mirror is also famous for making commentaries on today's use of media.

Timothy Van Patten is the director of Hang the DJ. He is known for TV series Boardwalk Empire (2010) and Touched by an Angel (1994). He also directed the first two episodes of Game of Thrones Season 1.

Episode 5: Metalhead directed by David Slade

David Slade is the guy who directed all of the episodes of thriller series Hannibal. He is also currently impressing audience on his work in American Gods TV series. Many viewers are looking forward to episode 5 titled "Metalhead" after Netflix get in touch with him to direct the fifth episode of Black Mirror Season 4.

Rumors claim Metalhead might dwell on the effects of music to its listeners. With the emergence of Spotify and Apple Music, it is not too far-fetched to see a Black Mirror episode about music streaming apps.

Episode 6: Black Museum

The final episode of season 4 is Black Museum. Its director is not yet revealed, but magician Penn Jillette gave some juicy details about the episode. In his Pan Dandy's Death Sputum podcast, he said the Black Museum Episode is based on his short story titled "The Pain Addict."

"I was postulating a future where you could put a gizmo on your head and feel someone else's pain. So there would be doctors whose whole job it was to feel pain and say, 'His left arm is broken.' 'That's not actually appendicitis, that's a cancer thing," Jillette said when asked about the premise of his short story.

Jillette stated Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker liked the idea and asked him if he can use it in the next season of the series.

Netflix has not yet revealed the release date of Black Mirror Season 4. Rumors around the internet claim it will be available in the last week of October, similar to Season 3 release.
