The Higher Learning Commission granted the application from Cornerstone University’s Asia Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS) to branch out into China.

ABTS has had its branches in many Asian countries including Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines, Malaysia and Myanmar. Now, it further extends its scale by reaching China.

Seminary Dean Bob Rapa said, "We've been teaching in Hong Kong for 20 years. We would like to expand and go further to China. Finally we succeeded to get the approval."

He added,"In china, leadership training is incredibly needed, not mentioning about theological education."

He spoke about his goals to shape the theology in China and church planting. We will train these men to go out into the people's life and their cultures and set up churches.
