HONG KONG- The 10-day Hong Kong Annual Bible Exposition kicks off on Wednesday, as hundreds of believers flocked to the Kowloon Baptist Church.

Early in the morning, a prayer meeting started in preparation for the day. Participants prayed to bless both the preacher and the listeners, and they asked the Lord to protect them from the attack of Satan. Rev. Lau Yan Tak started the exposition with an opening prayer.

"Stepping into the 79th year of the Annual Bible Exposition, it has long been a great inter-denominational event since the 1970’s. Hong Kong Annual Bible Exposition is the witness for God’s work over the decades. Though environment changes as time passes by, the word of God will never change," Rev. Lau prayed.

Marking the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong’s handover to China, a leading magazine had once speculated a pessimisstic future for Hong Kong. however, it turns out that all of them are incorrect.

"While people believe in groundless speculation from worldly people, how many of us believe in God’s promise? Since the beginning of the Bible exposition, the servant of God has never regretted for one single word that has been said," Rev. Lau commented.

Most participants were elderly people and women, while only a small portion of them were young adult. The three preachers for morning, afternoon and evening session for the next ten days are namely President of China Bible Seminary Rev. Lee Po Chu, New Testament Professor from the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School Rev. Grant Osborne, and Senior Pastor of the Kowloon City Baptist Church Rev. James Cheung.
