Vonette Bright is calling on President Bush to apologize to the Iraqi people on behalf of the Americans for the U.S. troops mistreatment of Iraqi detainees.

According to the The Associated Press, Bright said the outrage over the pictures of the Iraqis stripped and humiliated by their guards neesd to be answered "by the president saying that we are sorry--the American people express sorrow."

Bush had earlier denounced the acts as "shameless and unacceptable." He will appear in two 10-minute interviews on Arab television to share his feelings upon seeing the photos, according to White House spokesman Scott McClellan.

Bright, the widow of Bill Bright who founded Campus Crusade for Christ, also wants troops who committed the acts to publically confess on camera to the Iraqi people and ask for their forgiveness.
