1,200 Students Gathered For Youth Bible Conference In Hong Kong

Feb 26 and 27, the first "Stone Tablet Guide Bible Conference" was held in Hong Kong by the Fellowship of Evangelical Students (FES). 1,200 students from more than 10 Christian high schools and other churches joined this retreat, which marks one of the largest teenager's bible conference in recent years in Hong Kong.

According to the president of the student's arranging committee, the "Stone Tablet" means Bible.

"Stone tablet is Bible. Bible is the instruction of our life....Let's follow the the teachings of God,...instead of following the world. Just like what Paul said, 'Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.' And this is what 'Stone Tablet' means."

The speakers also shared their experiences on guiding young people to do bible-studies. They emphasized the importance of entrusting more tasks to young students. Through these experiences, the students will learn about faith the beginning of wisdom, which is to fear God and servitude.

According to FEB, "Stone Tablet" will not be an one time event, but rather it will give serves as a beginning for many to devote themselves to the teaching of the bible. From March to May, nine Bible study groups are holding activities in Waichai, Jordan, Shatin and Taipo, and they are inviting students from middle school and high school to join their Bible-studies.
