This year, United Bible Society (UBS) surprisingly held the “United Bible Society Exhibition” in Hong Kong. 120 UBS representatives from 43 countries are attending this exchange. At the opening ceremony held Friday afternoon, Mr. Siu-kwong Lee, Hong Kong S.A.R. Security Bureau Chief, presided as the ceremony’s special guest.

Mr. Lee said in his speech, “From the teachings of God, people can see the importance of maintaining the law and order. More importantly, those who read the Bible should place their faith in God and find the stability of their souls. I believe that this is the highest level of security.”

Lastly, he stated his personal view that the bible is the source where he can find the truth and the life principles shown through God’s revelations, and hopes that the exhibition will be a success and that more people in this world can follow the teachings of the Bible.

Today, UBS has published and distributed close to 80% of the Bibles in this world, and it was about a century ago that UBS ever held a conference that gathered the representatives from around the world. However, this time, it was held in Hong Kong.

Through this book exhibition, the conference will share with the regional representatives of the past achievements, present situation, and assist in drawing out plans to ensure a more effective distribution of the Bible and that the messages can reach to more people in this world, allowing them to hear the message of salvation.

Two seminars, with the theme “Bible Ministry and Creative Development” and “Responding to the Challenges of the World’s Need for the Bible”, will be held on Saturday at the Yomadi YMCA Sports Auditorium. The staffs of the UBS will converse and dialogue with those who has the determination to know about the work of Bible translation.
