Renown Chinese Indonesian evangelist Stephen Tong’s 2011 San Diego evangelistic rally held from April 8th to 10th concluded successfully. About 2,000 people turn out to the event and hundreds more listened to his message delivered for believers.

Rev. Kuo-Liang Lin, who is the event coordinator and the pastors at Harvest Evangelical Church of San Diego, commented that under the theme power of faith Tong has excellently explicated the contents and the meaning of faith.

“Tong pointed out that our reasoning should be turned back. Reasoning needs to be led by the truth; and perception needs to experience God’s love. Tong taught that faith cannot just recklessly believe,” he said.

Lin shared some of his reflections, saying, “Rev. Tong is already 71 years old, and he recalled most of his experiences in serving the Lord to illustrate the meaning of faith.”

Lin also talked about the course of establishing Messiah Cathedral in Jakarta, Indonesia, where Tong has integrated the “contents of faith”, the "gifts of music", "gifts of architecture" that God has given to him in his lifetime into every detail of the church building. "Rev. Tong's real experience of serving God throughout his life is a great encouragement to us as Christians.”

During the three days meeting, many truth seekers were moved by the Holy Spirit and committed their lives to the Lord. In the last night of gathering, Tong made a special call to those in the crowd who would like to dedicate their lives to serve the Lord and ten or more people responded to the calling.

While Tong preached during the evangelistic rallies, he shared a message titled “An Unshakeable Life” to around 300 people from various churches on the Sunday Service held on April 10. Quoting Psalms 125:1, he spoke about earthquake and the meaning of the unshakeable Mount Zion.
