The eighth Chinese Coordination Centre of World Evangelism (CCCOWE) conference concluded on September 16th in Indonesia. With Rev. Morley Lee stepping down as the secretary general, Rev. Joshua Ting was officiated as the sixth CCCOWE secretary general with the laying of hands from various prominent Chinese Christian leaders.

CCCOWE Chairman Rev. Timothy Lau said in the ceremony’s opening speech that Chinese churches around the world are fervently praying, asking God to raise up workers, in particular leaders from the younger generation, reported The Christian Daily.

The ministers who laid their hands on Ting to bless him during the officiating ceremony were Singapore Bible College Principle Dr. Albert Ting, CCCOWE Chairman Rev. Timothy Lau, Taiwan Cosmic Light Executive Director Dr. Chi-Ping Lin, former CCCOWE Secretary General Rev. Hay-Chung Mak, The Presbyterian Church in Taiwan Rev. Li-te Chen, Mandarin Baptist Church in Los Angeles Senior Pastor Rev. Peter Chung, and Rev. Morley Lee.

Ting will officially begin his role on January 1, and Lee will become an honorary director.

In the closing sermon for the conference, Ting delivered the messages on “Lord’s Word” and “Lord’s Table”, which drew the closing dot for the 8th CCCOWE conference.

In an interview with Christian Tribune, Lee reiterated the mission of CCCOWE is to serve as a communication center.

“Because CCCOWE is not a mission agency, a headquarter, or an association, she is only a non-denominational ministry that mainly serves to propagate missions and acts as a platform for ministries to connect without regional limitations,” he said. “Through such kind of protocol, she provides a channel for the Chinese churches of different denominations around the world to attain “one mind, one voice, proclaiming the gospel.”
