The winner of the Colombia versus Peru game will advance to the quarter-finals of the Copa America as the two countries bring to end their Group C campaign, according to Football News. The teams in the Copa America Group C are interesting to watch as Peru, Brazil, Venezuela and Colombia are all level on three points from two matches.

Columbia and Peru are also coming from both ends of the Group C standing with Columbia at the bottom of the group with three points while Peru is on top despite all four teams have the same number of points.

The Columbians began their campaign in a bad start with a 1-0 defeat against Venezuela before defeating Brazil 1-0 to bounce back from the competition.

Columbia coach Jose Pekerman is confident his team could overcome the challenges ahead of them. He was quoted as saying, "We always believed in the players, and in this group. We knew that we could get the job done. This was a great chance to demonstrate what we can do, as we faced an opponent that forces you to play to your best. Fortunately our improvement was very clear as we produced a complete game that we won fairly thanks to our hard work. For that we are happy because the players played a great game."

Peru is coming from a fresh 1-0 victory against Venezuela on Thursday. The victory paved for Group C to be wide open with all the four teams each has 3 points after two matches, said Total Sportek.

Peru legend Claudio Pizarro scored the only goal during the game in 72 minutes. Venezuela struggled during the game as Amorebiet was penalized with red in 30 minutes of the first half. The Venezuelans were not able to recover after that which gave Peru the much needed victory.

Live Soccer TV said that Group C of the Copa America is expected to provide football fans great excitement as they will see a rematch between the two countries that provided one of the greatest matches during last year's World Cup.

The report is predicting Brazil and Columbia to be serious title contenders in the Copa America, having the most talented players in the tournament, La Canarinha and Los Cafeteros who will battle for the first place of the Group. Meanwhile, Venezuela and Peru will try not to end as the worst team in the group and will have to settle for the third spot, it said.
