Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 15 Release Dates: The Long Delay from Square Enix

Oct 22, 2015 02:52 PM EDT

Square Enix is a company that has many great games under its belt, and the two most well-known franchises associated with them are Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy.  These are franchises that have very devoted fans, and these fans have been eagerly awaiting new iterations of these games in worlds that they are quite familiar with.  For some reason, information about Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 15 have been shrouded in mystery, even though these games will be surefire hits when they finally reach their release dates.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date

According to the Latino Post, there could be big changes in the story for the third main iteration of the hit game, including some multiple playable characters and multiplayer gameplay.  This is a shift from the tradition of the game, which frequently focuses on the series' main protagonist, Sora.  Director Tetsuya Nomura has mentioned that "maybe something's going on" to bring multiple playable characters in the game.

Some are concerned that this new feature could make Kingdom Hearts 3 a very different and possibly inferior game compared to its predecessors, but in the gaming world, change can be good, and the proof is in the playing.  As far as other changes are concerned, there will be new worlds added to the game that include the Disney-licensed ones of Tangled and Big Hero 6

The good news is that gamers might be able to get to playing Kingdom Hearts 3 as soon as November.  That is by no means official, and Amazon still has the placeholder December 31, 2015, in the release date, but at least it will be available on both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

Final Fantasy 15 Release Date

Like Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy is another game series with a well-developed and complex mythology, but it has been very long before an official new game in the series has been released.  Realty Today says that fans of the game are "frustrated" at the delayed release date (still set for sometime in 2016), but there might be something more to be announced at Paris Games Week set for next week.

According to Geek Snack, the latest version of the Final Fantasy 15 Episode Duscae demo, version 2.0, will be in a playable form during the event.  The Square Enix will also have some new presentation presenting some new details of Final Fantasy 15

It doesn't look like the Paris Games Week will be the stage where Square Enix will formally announce the release date of Final Fantasy 15 for the Xbox One and PS4, as that is set for some separate event to take place on March 2016.
