Dancing With The Stars Season 21 has been a rollercoaster ride not only for the contestants and their pro partners but also for the viewing public. Throughout the season, fans and followers have been treated to spectacular dance numbers mingled with heartbreaking losses and exits. Injuries and other health concerns also peppered the nights of the Dancing With The Stars Season 21 viewers as fan favorites, and strong contenders were forced to abandon their hard work for the sake of their health. At this point, only a handful of dancing couples remain.

The semi-finals had been widely anticipated by the show's cast and crew. However, another heartbreaking news dampened the night's festive mood as contestant Tamar Braxton had to quit due to health reasons. According to the Dancing With The Stars sources, the doctors of the singer found blood clots in her lungs. Hence, Braxton had no other recourse but to quit before her situation got worse. The Real co-host's pro dancing partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, shared his sympathy for the ailing Dancing With The Stars contestant.

Meanwhile, recent developments revealed that Braxton is finally out of danger. The former Dancing With The Stars contestant shared via People Magazine, "I mean, I'm just so elated. And I just feel so blessed to come out of the hospital. Because, you know, the realization is that you know, a lot of people don't come out of the hospital with multiple PEs [pulmonary embolisms] like I had."

With the exit of Braxton, the four couples left standing were given guaranteed spots in the finale. They were Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess; Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough; Alex Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold; and Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson.

"I'm just so honored to be here," shared Irwin, referring to her accomplishment of being part of the finale contestants of Dancing With The Stars 21, according to E Online. Hough's celebrity partner went on to say, "I never in my wildest dreams thought that I'd be able to make it to here. I'm extremely grateful for everyone's support and allowing us to stay and also for Derek's continued amazingness."

For their part, Arnold shared in an earlier interview with Wetpaint the possible reason for Skarlatos' appeal in the show. She shared that her goal as a pro dance partner was always to try to incorporate his personality into their numbers.

"The fact that he [Skarlatos] came into this with no experience, not even just with dancing but with this whole [entertainment] world, I feel like that's what America loves so much about him," shared Arnold. She added, "He's just a normal guy who's just working through all of this craziness. It's fun, because he gets to share this journey with so many people."

Although the four managed to secure a spot in the finals, fans of the Dancing With The Stars must not rest on their laurels. The Week 10 performance night saw Carter and pro partner Burgess garner the lowest score of 54. Skarlatos and Arnold received a total of 57 points; while both Irwin-Hough and PenaVega-Carson tandems got 60 points.
