The Heisman Trophy winner will be revealed on Saturday (December 12). As the excitement builds up not only among the college stars chosen as finalists but also in the entire football community, fans of the sport are busy projecting the potential winner. This year, three football stars made it to the list, namely, Derrick Henry, Christan McCaffrey and Deshaun Watson. Both Henry and McCaffrey play the running back posts while Watson is a quarterback.

According to Chase Goodbread of the official NFL media site, McCaffrey has the best chances of winning the trophy for The Heisman this year. The sports analysts noted that the running back from Standford University would stand out this 2015 due to his all-around skills.

"The versatility McCaffrey has shown this season is a compelling factor that will make the difference in a tight vote," pointed out Goodbread. He added, "He's not only rushed for almost 1,900 yards, he's the Cardinal's No. 1 receiver and top return specialist, as well, and broke Barry Sanders' record for all-purpose yards in a single season."

According to ESPN, both McCaffrey and Henry are eyeing the possibility of breaking the five-year streak of quarterbacks. That is, the two football stars are determined to bring home the prize on behalf of the quarterbacks in the league. In the past five years, The Heisman award had been dominated by the quarterbacks. Henry is the running back for the Alabama Crimson Tide squad of the University of Alabama. Meanwhile, Watson is the quarterback for the Clemson Tigers at the Clemson University.

"Just found out five minutes ago," shared McCaffrey following the announcement of The Heisman award finalists. He added, "I'm a little emotional."

As for Watson, his coach in Clemson noted that the nomination is a testament to the quarterback's dedication and determination to excel in the sport.

"This is recognition for a great performance on the field and for the hard work he has put in over the last year after suffering a torn ACL," Dabo Swinney shared. The Clemson Tigers head coach added, "A year ago Saturday night (Dec. 12, 2014), he was in the hospital having surgery. Exactly a year later, he will be in New York as a Heisman finalist."

The televised announcement of 2015 Heisman Winner will start airing on December 12, 2015, at 8:00 pm ET on ESPN. 2015 Heisman Dinner Gala is scheduled on December 14, 2015 (Monday).
