There are a lot of smartphones to get consumer love, such as the Galaxy Note 5, iPhone 6S/6S Plus, the Galaxy S7, LG G5, and the HTC 10.  It stands to reason that users are looking forward to the latest coming such as the Galaxy Note 7, iPhone 7/7 Plus, Galaxy 8, LG G6, and HTC 11.  I put them in a format of the typical Too Long, Didn't Read, so it is easier to you to get the highlights.  Enjoy this prediction of future of smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7

As you can see, the first rumor of the supposed Galaxy Note 6 is that it will be leapfrogging in order to skip to the Galaxy Note 7.  Why?  Most say that it is the hope that the 7 designation will get consumers attention with the iPhone 7 coming out.

According to CNET, the Note 7 also has rumors of a curved front screen, an iris scanner, and possibly a new software interface.  It is also known that the Note 7 has a 5.7-inch screen, 12 Megapixel camera, front-facing 5 Megapixel camera, a 4,200 mAh battery, and a USB-C port.  The release date will probably be sometime in early August.  It is expected that the 64 GB version will be about $800.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

It is believed that the iPhone 7 will have a 4.7 inch screen, while the iPhone 7 Plus will have a 5.5 inch screen.  There might even me another phone launched with an update to the iPhone SE.

As for the announcement, it should be happening sometime in the fall, sometime in September.  You know there will be a huge announcement from Apple, with the iPad coming on a separate event or the same one.

Since this is not an "S" model, there will more than likely be a complete redesign.  It doesn't look like 16 GB will be in the lineup this time, and could be phased out completely.  Some say that it might have a USB-C, wireless charging, and no headphone jack (removed to keep the iPhone thin), according to Macworld.

Samsung Galaxy S8

According to Day Herald, it is possible that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a home button that is circular and looks a lot like a fingerprint sensor.  There is also the possibility of an Ultra 4K display to make the new flagship more applicable for Virtual Reality.

As for when the S8 will be available, look for it at Mobile World Congress 2017.  The dates of that are February 27 to March 2 of next year, so you will probably see it announced a day or so before that.

LG G6

The LG G6 will be appearing  at Mobile World Congress 2017, if the past history of LG is proof of that.  TechRadar reports that it could have integrated wireless charging technology for the first time on LG.  They also recommended a more stylish design, a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, front-facing stereo speakers, and much more.

HTC 11

It might be too early to talk about the HTC 11.  The HTC 10 is practically a month old, and a separate article from TechRadar discusses moving the stereo speakers back to the front, waterproof build, and so forth.
