‘The Lego Batman Movie’ Release Date, New Comic-Con Trailer, Cast, and News about ‘The Lego Movie Sequel’

If you haven't seen the new trailer for The Lego Batman Movie, then you are missing out on one of the best laughs you will have all day.  Not only is Lego Batman too good to be a side character in The Lego Movie, but Lego Batman rightfully deserves his own film.  It certainly shows the humorous side to the character in a world full of dark DC superhero reboots, and it is just what audiences both young and old need.  This is what is known about The Lego Batman Movie Release Date, the new Comic-Con Trailer, the cast, and other news, including The Lego Movie Sequel

I'm sure that there will be several things going on in The Lego Batman Movie, but it appears that one of the plots is going to be dealing with Batman's most recent adoption of Robin.  Robin will be played by Michael Cera, an actor most famous for his role of George-Michael Bluth on Arrested Development, and he has a very distinct voice.  As for the Caped Crusader, he will be voiced by Will Arnett, who was also on Arrested Development as Gob Bluth, George-Michael's uncle.

It is excellent casting, and it looks like Will Arnett is going to play Batman like he plays Bojack Horseman, but even more impressed by his own awesomeness.  Ralph Fiennes will be playing his iconic wise butler Alfred, and this version is more of a surrogate father rather than servant.  Of course, Batman in this Lego world is extremely immature.

The trailer shows that the Justice League makes an appearance, but their individual voices do not appear on the film's imdb page.  Zach Galifianakis will be portraying The Joker, Rosario Dawson will be Batgirl, and in a weird twist, Mariah Carey will be playing the Mayor of Gotham City.

This is a side of Batman that needs to be seen, as Batman: The Killing Joke doesn't look like it will be doing very well.  Personally, I think Lego Batman is better than actual Batman, and I might have to add him to my 5 Best and Worst Adaptations of the Darkknight Detective

Okay, one question that I have is will The Lego Batman Movie take place in the same universe established in The Lego Movie?  We already know that The Lego Movie Sequel is on its way, and The Lego Batman Movie appears to be some kind of origin story.  Does this mean that the film will end with Batman meeting WyldStyle?  I don't see why not.

We will have to wait as The Lego Batman Movie won't be in theaters until February 10, 2017.  It will be followed-up with The Lego Movie Sequel on February 8, 2019.  Yes, it is being made, and should reunite the original cast, including Lego Batman.
