Porn Filter 'Clean Router' Hands-On Review and How it Can Block Pornography; Is This a Way to Beat Porn Addiction?

Most houses have a router so there can be wireless Internet for laptops, smartphones, and tablets.  For those that have families with kids, there is a way that pornographic material on the Internet can be blocked thanks to the Clean Router.  This is our hands-on review of the Clean Router, and how it blocks porn.  Is this a way for porn addicts to beat the habit?

Most of our readers probably have hooked up routers in their homes or offices already, and it's pretty easy as it's just plugging it in with all the proper cables.  The instructions walk you through it in case you are not familiar, and I found that I was able to go online and set up your Admin access and code words.

By the way, I found the helpline for this company to be very good, as I had some issues with it, but the man on the other end of the phone helped me out and was very friendly.  Not bad for a company that looks like it is just starting.

Once those were set up, I then went online to see if I could find porn.  Yes, I realize that a lot of people have had problems with this, and yes, I am handling this subject lightly.  One thing about pornography is it usually isn't stumbled upon accidentally, but a few keywords of a sexual nature can find long lists of it.

Needless to say, this is where I awkwardly admit that I clicked on some of these options for porn, and I got the screen that you see in the image.  As you can see, I was blocked.  I could allow "Temporary Access" or "Permanent Access".  It is up to the administrator to enter the Admin code if you want to see the questionable material.

Now, I have had a few false positives on the Clean Router.  There were a few articles that I had written in the past about cars, and I found that the Tesla pictures were covered with the Clean Router logo.  What's up with that?  Did those pictures come from Playboy or something?

I will let you decide whether or not you need this plan, but here is some things that I found, and I didn't really have either when I tried it out.  Just to let you know, I used the YouTube filter, and I could still use YouTube on my computer, but not on my phone from the Clean Router network.

Okay, I'm going to recommend the Clean Router if you have kids and you want to block them from seeing stuff on the Internet that they shouldn't be seeing at an early age.  Now, just to let you know, children seeing a block on their screen could increase their curiosity, and they could find a way around it.  Yes, there are ways around the Clean Router, as there are ways of bringing up pornographic videos on sites that Clean Router will not label as questionable.

Now I realize that the issue of porn addiction is big, especially in the Christian community, sad to say.   If you believe that you have a problem, and you believe that this machine can help, then it probably will.  I say probably because you can find ways around the Clean Router, even if you don't know the passwords.  The thing about bad habits is that you don't want to just buy a machine to help you break them, as beating any addiction or similar behavior is all about changing yourself.

The Clean Router is actually free, available at the Clean Router site.  Okay, you will have to pay $9.99 for the basic package, and then you will have to pay for the monthly service, which is about $12.99.  There is a more advanced package for $19.99.  And the Clean Router Pro is $199.99.
