It is confirmed! One of the most talked about shows this summer returns for a second season. Directors of Stranger Things reveal the show's next season would have a darker and gripping storyline. Now, here's the latest round-up of update about Stranger Things Season 2 air date, spoilers and rumors on the web.

The first season of Stranger Things is a commercial success, so it is not surprising that Netflix chief executive Reed Hastings expressed his readiness to commission the series' second season. In an interview with The Guardian, Hasting said it would be "dumb not to" do the Stranger Things Season 2.

Even though Netflix does not release figures for the show's ratings, producers have many ways to know its popularity and success. By looking at IMDB page of Stranger Things, it is obvious that many viewers enjoyed the show and looking forward tp its next season. Stranger Things has 9.1/10 rating from the website.

Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, also known as Duffer brothers, revealed Stranger Things Season 2 would be an anthology. Taken as a single story, the first part of the show has an ending. In an interview with Esquire, the show directors said they purposely want viewers to feel that there is some sort of conclusion in Season 1, where there's tension and main resolve to that tension.

The Season 2 would actually be more of a sequel, and expect there would be a new tension to be solved. "We're leaving a few threads to revisit. We're almost treating it more like a big movie," the Duffer brothers added.

The show's creators have not yet revealed whether they are now writing the storyline for the second season, but have teased fans it would be a darker follow-up to the first season. Furthermore, expect to see again the group of bicycle-riding kids, and they would have set of new problems.

During Netflix panel at the Television Critics Association in Los Angeles last month, show runners said Stranger Things Season 2 would follow a similar format of eight episodes running for between 45 and 55 minutes.

Set in 1983, the supernatural series follows a group of children who are trying to investigate the mysterious disappearance of one of their friends. The show features Winona Ryder, Charlie Heaton, Millie Brown and Natalie Dyer.
