Those that want to play one of the best basketball simulators on their consoles won't have to wait long.  NBA 2K17 is about ready to hit its release date, and it promises to be a big hit as NBA 2K16 sold 4 million copies.  This is what is known about NBA 2K17 with its release date, as well as new features like MyLeague, MyGM, the Olympic Dream Team Guest Teams, and New Story Mode.

New Features for NBA 2K17 with MyLeague and MyGM

For those that want to create a league and a team, you are in a lot of luck.  There will be a new feature known as League Expansion which allows players to go from a League of 30 teams to 36 teams.  According to Gotta Be Mobile, these teams can be based on classic teams that the player is familiar with or teams that have even had their names changed and moved cities.  Increasing the size of the league will create team divisions, and draft lotteries and schedule alignments will show up when an expansion team is created in the off-season.  What is really customizable is how the player can create the logos and the jerseys.

NBA 2K17 Guest Team and MyTeam Cards

As NBA 2K is known for getting a roster that is equal to the real league's roster, it is difficult for the player to receive a really good fantasy basketball team.  However, NBA 2K17 really makes it interesting as the 1992 USA Men's National Team (otherwise known as The Dream Team, including Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, and Christian Laettner) is included.

If you are thinking that there is an Olympic theme going on here, then you would be right, as the 2016 USA Basketball Men's Team is available.  A report from Mobile and Apps via the Movie News Guide reveals the line-up of the delegates are as follows: Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant, Chicago Bulls' Jimmy Butler, Toronto Raptors' Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRoza, Los Angeles Clippers' DeAndre Jordan, Cleveland Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving, Sacramento Kings' DeMarcus Cousins, New York Knicks' Carmelo Anthony, Indiana Pacers' Paul George and the Golden State Warriors' Klay Thompson, Harrison Barns, and Draymond Green.

While we are talking about legends of basketball, both past and present, let's talk about the three new MyTeam Cards available for those who pre-order.  They include Kobe Bryant, Paul George, and Michael Jordan.

NBA 2K17 Story Mode?

When NBA 2K16 was announced, the big hyped feature was the story mode, which showed how a player goes from high school player to the pros, and it was directed by the legendary filmmaker Spike Lee.  There is no word on story mode for NBA 2K17, which seems rather odd to me.

If you are wanting to purchase NBA 2K17, then you won't have to wait very long as it is available on September 20 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows.  It is possible to get three different pre-order variants of the game.  The first one is the standard NBA 2K17 edition with Indiana Pacers player Paul George on the cover.  This pre-order will cost $59.99 with bonus content that includes 5,000 worth of Virtual Currency and a My TEAM Bundle with a Paul George Free Agent card inside.  As for the Kobe Bryant Legend Edition, it is up for $79.99, and it includes an exclusive Kobe Bryant in-game items for free.  Then there is a Kobe Bryant Legend Gold Edition for $99.99, and that includes 70,000 Virtual credits, two MyTEAM Bundle packs, a Nike Kobe shoe collection, a Black Mamba controller skin, and more.
