Samsung recently announced Galaxy Note 7 last week, but many gadget lovers are now looking forward to Galaxy S8. The next entry in Samsung's S series is said to have crazy-fast Exynos 8896 chipset, visually-appealing curved screen, and support for Gear VR headset.

Now, here's the latest round-up of update about Samsung Galaxy S8 release date, specs, features and rumors on the web.

The Galaxy Note S7 sports curved screen display, and many tech experts say it is of the most of the innovative design in a phablet. Rumors around the internet claim the design will be magnified to Samsung's next-generation devices. In fact, head of Samsung Mobile DJ Koh stated "Samsung has considered that it would make the edge display as the identity of the Galaxy S smartphone lineup," as per report from Korea Herald.

With the Galaxy Note series going all-in the edge display, it is not surprising if next year's Galaxy S8 flagship will only have a curved screen variant.

Furthermore, by fully embracing the curved display design, it can be the signature feature of the future Samsung smartphones, according to CNET. That strategy would fit in with the company's new goal of releasing a single hero model that defines the entire range of smartphones.

Interestingly, Sam Mobile reported an Exynos 8895 would be installed in the Galaxy S8. The South Korean phone maker is reportedly testing the chip for the next-generation Galaxy S smartphone, and so far the processor is doing great.

The Exynos 8895 is 30 percent more powerful than the outgoing Exynos 8890. Test batches of the processor are reportedly hitting staggering peak speeds of 4GHz.

Allegedly codenamed as Project Dream, Samsung Galaxy S8 may be released early next year. It is rumored to have a new 4K 5.5-inch display designed for VR technology. The smartphone's extra resolution will make it perfect for the Gear VR headset.

Concerning storage capacity, the standard version of Galaxy S8 could offer 256GB of internal memory. Despite the inclusion of micro SD slot in the Galaxy 7, many users are requesting for bigger native storage. Therefore, Samsung might grant that request in the next year's device.

Samsung typically debuts new Galaxy S smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in February, and we expect the Galaxy S8 would arrive in that event in Barcelona. Stay tuned with us for more update.
