There's no doubt that Pokémon Go is the hottest mobile game today, so it is not surprising if its augmented reality feature will be adopted by other titles. Now, several gaming websites report a group of developers are now making Harry Potter GO, a game adaption of J.K. Rowling's novel.

As a way to express support for Harry Potter Go project, Stargaze Media created a magical concept trailer for the rumored augmented reality game. The fan-made trailer is posted on Youtube. It suggests players would be able to catch fantastic beasts found in the Harry Potter universe. Similar to how trainers use Pokeballs in Pokemon Go, wizards would use magic wand to catch beasts on Harry Potter Go.

Furthermore, players would be able to join one of the four Hogwarts houses -- Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. This feature is similar to Pokémon Go's Team Valor, Mystic and Instinct. Not only that, players would also collect cards of famous wizards and witches at "Magic Stops."

The main user interface in Harry Potter Go would be the marauder's map, which Harry Potter used in the movies to walk around Hogwarts unnoticed.

Harry Potter Go trailer is very enticing, but take note that game developer Niantic or film producer company Warner Bros. has not yet confirmed its development. Reports claiming the game is now in the works came from unverified resources, so we should take it with a grain of salt.

On the other hand, considering the fact that Pokémon GO earned $200 million in its first month, Niantic might decide to offer new location-based augmented reality game in the future.

To make Harry Potter Go, author J.K. Rowling, Niantic and Warner Bros. should discuss and agree with terms and conditions. However, as of now, there's no news if the author, the game developer and the film producer have met.

Interestingly, there's a petition posted on the Internet to make Harry Potter augmented reality game.  As of this writing, the petition has more than 51,000 supporters. The goal is to have 55,000 signatures. With pressure from fans, Niantic might decide to develop the Harry Potter Go. Let's wait and see.

While waiting for the game, fans should check out the three new books from J.K. Rowling. Titled as Pottermore series, the books delve in to the history and rich backstory of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The series also tells the untold stories of professors, house ghosts and more.
