The car of the future is here. Last month Mercedes announced the concept of Vision 6 at the Monterey Car Week festivities at Pebble Beach. The upcoming flagship of Maybach line boasts aerodynamic design, windshield with augmented reality technology, and 738-horsepower electric engine.

Now, here's what is currently known about Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 release date, specs and rumors.

Dubbed as the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, the vehicle is a combination of aerodynamic design and "sensual purity", according to Daimler AG design lead Gorden Wagener. Mercedes also describes the vehicle as a blend of "hot" with emotional design and "cold" with intelligent features.

In terms of design, Mercedes says the elongated body, low roof and rear positioning of the cabin are inspired by the classic coupes of a bygone era. The car manufacturer also adds Vision 6 is the reinterpretation of aero coupes.

Inside, front-seat passengers have wide-open view of their surroundings. They also have roomy space and comfortable seats. Plus, essential car information are projected on the windshield for an augmented reality driving.

Under the hood, the Vision 6 has four electric motors that can produce 50kW of power and 738 horsepower. In addition, it is equipped with 80kWh battery in the floorboard that propels the wheels for up to 200 miles.

Mercedes claims the Vision 6 has sports car performance. The vehicle is reportedly capable of running at 0-100 km in less than four seconds and a top speed of 155 MPH, according to an article from Engadget.

Interestingly, Mercedes did not mention if the Vision 6 has autonomous driving feature, something that electronic vehicles usually offer. Based on the press release, it seems that the car is meant to be driven.

While the specs and features of Vision 6 sound impressive, take note that Mercedes has not yet revealed if it would make this concept car. However, the car maker did confirm earlier this month that it was developing an electronic vehicle that can run for up to 310 miles.

If the Vision 6 project pushes through, it is expected to go head-to-head against Tesla's electronic vehicles such as Model 3 and Model Y, according to Business Insider.

For now, let's wait for more announcements from Mercedes. We'll keep you posted if there's a new information.
