Android M 6.0 Marshmallow and Android N 7.0 Nougat Release Date For Samsung, LG, Sony, HTC, and Nexus for AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Verizon, and Sprint

We all know that Apple made some big announcement about the latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus along with other things like iOS 10.  For the other half of us, we have devices with the Android operating system, and there is has been a recent announcement about the upgrade.  Right now, most of the newer Android devices are running the latest with version 6.0 (also known as Android M or Marshmallow).  Then there is the latest which has hardly appeared on any Android devices with version 7.0 (also known as Android N or Nougat).  This is the latest news about Android M 6.0 Marshmallow and Android N 7.0 Nougat Release Date for Samsung, LG, Sony, HTC, and Nexus for subscribers like AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Verizon, and Sprint.

Marshmallow and Nougat Release Date for Samsung Galaxy S7, S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge +, Note 7, Note 5, Note 4, Note 3, and S5

Samsung has been doing pretty good when it comes to getting to Marshmallow coming out.  After about five months, it showed up on the Galaxy S6, which would have been the latest.  The Samsung S7 had it right out of the packaging.  The Note 5 got it sometime around March of this year.  In spite of the Note 7 recall, it came with Marshmallow.

So, when will Nougat coming?  Chances are, it will probably be coming sometime around January 2017.  However, there has been a lot of reports that Nougat will be coming out earlier instead of later.  Vine Report says that it should be coming to Galaxy Note 5, the Note 7, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge.  It could come to the Galaxy Tab 2 in the second quarter of 2017.

I am willing to bet that the Galaxy Note 8 will come with Nougat, or maybe even whatever version come after that. Something has to make up for that recall.

Marshmallow and Nougat Release Date for Sony Xperia X, XA, XA Ultra, X Performance, Z5, Z4, Z3, and Z2

When it comes to Marshmallow and Sony, the news on that has been pretty mixed at best, but the latest smart devices should have it  According to Tech Radar, Google and Sony announced that the Sony Xperia Z3 would receive the developer edition of the Nougat software, but it won't receive the full Nougat upgrade.  It has been reported that the Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra, and Xperia X Performance will be getting the upgrade.

According to Neurogadget, there is unfortunately no exact date for the release date of Nougat, but there is a rollout of the software planned in a phased method, which means some carriers are going to get it first.  Generally, there is not any specified date on that, which is again no surprise if you are familiar with Android rollouts and upgrades.  This one I won't even try and speculate on the release date for that.

Marshmallow and Nougat Release Date HTC 10, One A9, One M9, and the One M8

HTC was really great at getting Android Marshmallow to its subscribers. It came out of the box with it on the HTC 10.  The HTC One M9 and the HTC One M8 got it as well.  It is the non-flagship HTC phones that don't really get a lot of press.

HTC has confirmed it will be bringing Android Nougat to HTC products like the HTC 10, One A8, One M9, sometime around the end of 2016 at the earliest.  HTC confirmed this with Mo Versi (Vice President of Product Management and the company's voice on social media) but they didn't have an exact confirmation date for it.

Nougat Release Date for Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Pixel C and Nexus Player

When it comes to Android upgrades, the parent company of Google always tries to get them out first to its own Nexus devices.  So last year, when the latest Android devices came out, they were loaded with Marshmallow.

According to Know Your Mobile, there is going to be a launch event for Google with Pixel phones.  Chances are, these will have Google Nougat right out of the box, because Android is Google's.

It has been reported that the Android 7.0 update is rolling out to the Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9, Pixel C, and the Nexus Player devices.  In fact, it is reporting on them now, even before the new Google Nexus devices has been revealed.  This is a first for the company.

Marshmallow and Nougat Release Dates for LG G5, G4, G3, G2, G Stylo, V10, and V20

LG is pretty good about getting its upgrade to its subscribers.  Last year, the company made certain it was one of the first to get Marshmallow to its then flagship the LG G4.  The LG G5 came with Marshmallow, and then there was LG G3, G Flex 2, and the V10.

As for the LG V20, it is going to be receiving the Nougat update first.  Seriously, it could get it before the traditional Google Nexus gets the first chance.  Then after that, it will trickle down to the older versions, but it probably won't show up until late 2016 at the earliest and 2017 at the latest.

Release Dates Already Here?

In fact, the best advice one can give is if you have a newer LG , HTC, Samsung, Sony, or Google Nexus Android device, it would be worth your while to check the "Settings" menu along with the "System Update" to see if the upgrade is available via Over The Air (OTA).  It looks like things are progressing very well for these companies, and it shouldn't take long before all of the newer devices have Android M on all carriers, assuming that it isn't already.  You can probably just keep waiting if you want to see it happen for Android Nougat, but you will probably need to wait a while.
