The Walking Dead ended its Season 6 with a move that fans are having a hard time forgetting. The issue is it showed the villainous Negan taking the life of one of Rick's band of survivors, but not who. It has to be one of the most unnecessary cliffhangers in all of television history, as The Walking Dead was already green-lit for a Season 7. Showing who the victim is would not turn away its fans for the next season, and this is what is known about The Walking Dead Season 7 Release Date and Spoilers.
So Who Died at the End of The Walking Dead Season 6 Finale?
Fans of the comics already know the answer, assuming that the TV show isn't straying from the comic book, again. If you haven't read the source material, I am going to (possibly) spoil it for you.
Some are saying that the television show will be accurate, and Glenn will be killed like he was in issue #100 of the comic book series. It was a traumatic moment, as Rick knew Glenn from the beginning.
It is also stated that Glenn won't be the only one to die, as Abraham will go with him. Yes, the TV version will reportedly have two main characters killed, as reported by Game N Guide. Considering that Abraham died in the comic, that makes a lot of sense. Was it really worth waiting a season for? No.
What About Rick and Michonne?
The Walking Dead Season 6 also did something interesting that was against the story of the comic by pairing Rick and Michonne together romantically. It was something that the storyline of the comic hadn't done at that point, and this is assuming that the comic didn't do it later.
There are some who are saying that Negan will actually kill Michonne. If so, this could also be something that the fans of the show might not forgive. Michonne is kind of a symbol of the show, and even though killing her would motivate Rick to start his rebellion against Negan, it would be a cheap way of doing it.
What is Happening in Season 7 of The Walking Dead?
There is a report from iDigitalTimes saying that there will be an episode devoted to telling Negan's backstory. If you are familiar with the character, you know how he is charismatic, but he will use violence as a way to keep his followers in the grip of fear.
However, what was he like before the dead began to walk? Is seems impossible to believe that Negan was ever a nice guy, but the TV should show another side to him.
As for what else is going to happen, you can look here for a plan. If it is anything like the comic, Rick will pretend to give into Negan's demands at the beginning, and then get every other town he can to rebel against him in an all out war.
It should be pretty exciting, so look for The Walking Dead to return on Sunday, October 23rd.
