Amidst birthday greetings and celebrations for their matriarch Michelle, the Duggar family has made the headlines once more due to a recent photo of Anna, Josh Duggar’s wife, raising concerns among fans.
The image has sparked rumors that Anna and Josh have been fighting for the past weeks as the picture shows the mother-of-four sustaining a bruise on her face.
In the picture posted on Facebook, Anna can be seen shopping with two of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s daughters- Jill and Jinger. While Josh’s wife seemed to appear slimmer, her face is noticeable darker while her bottom lip seemed sore.
Online commenters have pointed out that it was not likely for Josh to have physically abused Anna.
“I don’t see black eye cold sore or swollen lips and I zoomed in on the pictures I think they all look great ur not supposed to be judging what they look like,” one commenter wrote.
“I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that, if something bad had happened to Anna (I think it’s shadow on the eye), they wouldn’t be taking her picture and posting it on social media,” another said.
Anna has gone through more than a few struggles, particularly after her husband’s cheating scandal was publicized. In May 2015, it was revealed that her husband molested several young girls during his teenage years, including two of his own sisters. Merely a few weeks later, Josh was revealed to have had a subscription to the online dating service that promotes infidelity among married couples- Ashley Madison.
While speculations about Anna’s weight loss have been attributed to such stress, the bruises on her face are yet to be explained.
There remain rumors that the mother-of-four is considering a divorce; when husband Josh came home from rehab this year, Anna was reportedly being pushed by family members and close friends to aim for separation. However, she seemed committed to the relationship, especially with the need to raise four children in their family.
“Josh and Anna are working on their relationship and are having the help of a couples therapist,” an insider told Hollywood Life. “The therapist has been coming to their home in Arkansas to work with them on the many issues they have been dealing with since Josh has returned from rehab.”
In other reports, Josh is reportedly getting back on track and was said to have recently attended a birthday party with the Duggar clan.
In a clip taken from TLC’s ‘Counting On,’ season 2, episode 5, Josh’s sister Jinger goes out on a date with fiancé, Jeremy Vuolo. Several Duggar siblings went with the pair, including Jedidiah, Jeremiah and Joy-Anna, as they head over to the local amusement part.
